I took this at Assateague NWR back in April this year using my Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 100-400 mm L lens with 1.4 teleconverter (total reach 560 mm). Handheld, at f8, 1/1000, ISO 1250. Cropped to 93 % of original. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Nicely composed, Shirley. The exposure and detail in the Heron are spot on. I like the mossy rocks in the near bg. I think a little extra blur on the grassy area above the rocks would make the image pop a bit more.
