I am already yearning for spring so I looked in my archive and found this nice wild Gladiolus. I met it in a field while playing with my dachshund. I picked it up and photographed on the windowsill against the sky. The name Gladiolus comes from Latin and means sword portraying its leaves.

D800E, Nikkor 200mm macro - f/19 and ISO 100

I am grateful for your opinions and advices.

Gigi: Not sure I've ever seen a wild gladiolus so this is a treat. Masterful high key presentation and a great comp. Most excellent. >=))>

You have a great talent for finding the unusual flower, lighting and set up.  You did it again with his image.  I also have never seen a wild gladiola.  Thanks for posting it.  It's beautiful.

Gigi, I am really enjoying this image. I like the opposing angles of the stalks to the petals, and also the sharpness of the leaves versus the soft roundness of the petals. The lighting is beautiful, as always.

Gigi

This is simply gorgeous.  It has the feel of a botanical illustration.  A real winner.
