Pine Siskin
by Dennis Plank
We actually had some sun this morning. In fact it was shining beautifully through the fog which was what drew me away from the morning paper and out to the blind.
I'm unsure about the horizontal positioning of the bird in this image. I have extra canvas on both sides so I can move it around quite a bit without even bothering to construct more so I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have on that aspect of it. I also tried the new DxO PhotoLab for the Raw processing (I still ended up going back to LR & PS for some touch-up stuff that I haven't been able to figure out in their software yet-just downloaded it a couple of days ago). It did seem to do a very nice job on the noise reduction.
7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 421 mm, Jobu Gimbal on blind window, f/9, 1/160, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1 EV (set up for Chickadees). Processed in DxO and PS and LR CC. Cropped to a 12 MP 6x7 format. Taken at 9:01 am this morning.
Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.
Thanks,

7 commentsGreat light and sharp details. I might be tempted to see how a standard vertical crop would look.
Looks great as is though
Really nice work!
