Harbor Reflection

Checking out the birds at the Harbor, Oregon harbor sad, I found this Western Grebe swimming through some unusual patterns of reflected boat masts.  As is usually the case, he swam there only briefly before moving on to a more productive place to fish.

Nice reflection Paula. I love the steely smooth water and the water drops on the grebe's back in this too.  These are so hard to get without the hot spots in the white, especially around all the reflected light from the water.

Paula, very nice sharpness on the Grebe and the reflection in the water makes this image sing.

Nice reflection and  beautiful water texture. I like the head turned pose as well. As Ed pointed out it's extremely difficult to avoid over-exposing the whites. I'd be tempted to play with the highlights slider, or perhaps use the brush tool and burn the white neck feathers to bring the luminance down a tad if you can. Lovely image.

The water with the mast reflections is gorgeous, Paula., and the grebe and it's reflection are very good.  Nice work.

Paula: I like the reflection and the patterns in the water. My only nit would be to tone down the whites in the neck of the bird. Richard
