Snow in the South

This is a cell phone picture because it was still snowing a little and I don't know if or how a camera should be handled in the snow.  This was in Decatur (Atlanta), Georgia, on December 8 and 9.

All feedback would be greatly appreciated.  Please view the larger version if possible.  Thank you!

This is my favorite of your recent snow scenes. The double burst explosions, like fireworks in a night sky, makes it clear to me what you liked about the subject and how you felt about it. Good job.

Lovely snow scene. Nice perspective on those beautiful trees!

Nicely composed with the layering of the snowy trees.  I'd be inclined to remove the car and mailbox, though it does set the scene as occurring in a populated area.

Interesting difference in the critiques.Personally, I agree with Igor, although cloning out the mailbox and the car would make it technically better. However, the "double burst explosions" take a very commanding hold of one's attention, and B/W mostly removes any distraction elsewhere in the image.

Barbara

I like this image very much and congratulations on taking it with a cell phone!!  Impressive.

Being from Colorado, I carry a clear plastic shield for my camera in my bag - always.  The one I have is called a "rain sleeve" by OP-Tech.  Condensation can also be an issue.  When I am going out, I put my bag out in the garage to chill before I leave.  Others may have better methods but so far mine has worked.

I like this as presented. the layer of snow defines the branches nicely.
