Giant spinners!

These are so cool.  They are located by our little airport.  They're huge!  A couple of stories tall.   I loved the sunset in the BG and just had to submit this shot.

The sunset is wonderful behind the intricate silhouette Lucy. I like the squared presentation and the lines of the spinners are great.  You're right, "These are so cool."

Yes, these are wonderfully graphic, Lucy, especially against the gentle pastel colors in the sky.  I like this as presented but also wonder about cropping the trees out or, given their height, if you could have crouched down to totally isolate them against the sky

I would have loved to crouch down and just have sky behind them, but this was the very first time I've seen them...never been down that road before.  And, all the sunset "action" was low in the sky.   I did manage to angle my camera (balanced on my car windowfrown), so the cars under them did not appear in the shot.

I'll go back some time, when it's not so late, and practice some angled shooting from different spots (other than my car...sad).  It was pretty late, and I was concerned that someone might run over me trying to park their car!  Plus, I needed to get home.  It was getting dark.

Cool graphic image. I would agree with you and Mark about getting low on your next visit. Real nice as presented, but it would be interesting to see how they look isolated against the sky.

I like this as presented: the silhouetted patterns of the spinners against a great sunset.  Well seen!

Lucy: I really like the silhouetted abstracts against the pastels in the sky. It's very easy to linger over your photo. Richard

These sculptures are very cool! I love the sky. I agree a lower vantage point looking upward be a real nice, too.

Thank you for the Editor's pick!   I still cannot believe, that I've lived her over 30 years and had never been down the road near the little airport!   Although, I have no idea when the artwork was put into place!

Very cool! Something different - great eye to have seen this potential!
The symmetry/asymmetry is intriguing.
Congrats on the WP!
