Taken a couple of years ago in the Northern Sacramento Valley, just before sunset.  D300, 300f4, 1.4 tc, 1/640, f6.3, ISO 500, HH.  Comments and critique always welcomed.  Thanks very much for the comments on my recent pintail posting.

Really nice lighting on this one, not only on the snow goose but the background also.  Terrific wing position.  On a cold day like today in the Pacific Northwest, this really warms me up.

Cool landing pose with warm side lighting.  Love the mountain background.  I have hundreds and hundreds of snow goose flight/landing shots and nothing like this.  Very inspirational.  Thanks for posting.

Beautiful, Jim.  I like the sunset and the back lighting in this one.  I also like the inclusion of the horizon and bushes in the bg.  I do see a bit of fringing out toward the ens of the wings.

I really hope everyone always looks at the larger versions in this gallery, because it makes such a difference in detail and in the fact that an image like this one is breathtaking when you look at the larger version.  Gorgeous light, and I agree with David that it's inspirational.

Really nice Jim. Great detail in wonderful light. Just through that area before Christmas on our way to Oregon. Hopefully I will have some shots to post when we get back home next week.

Your compositional choice works very well Jim. Lovely light and I like the wing position as well.
