The Blue Danube
by Peter Richter
"The Blue Danube" is the common English title of "An der schönen blauen Donau" (German for "By the Beautiful Blue Danube"), a waltz by the Austrian composer Johann Strauss II, composed in 1866.
This image was taken on January 2nd 2017, at the shore of the Danube near Fischamend, my father's birthplace, a short distance east of Vienna.
A Happy New Year to all of you!

8 commentsWow, I love this one. Interesting too because you're captured and presented a very similar comp as your previous image, especially with the inclusion of the visible river/lake bottom. I commented previously I didn't think the bottom of the previous image worked very well, but in this image, it's crucial and a successful part of this image. Simple for sure with three very basic elements; actually 4 if you separate the row of trees with the soft blue sky.
No nits or suggestions. This is wonderfully crafted, composed and presented.
Happy New Year!
