Shot last winter in the local park during a white-out. A vertical version of this, focused more on the tree, was posted last year in the landscape gallery, but I am posting this horizontal version as being more fitting for the "nearly all snow" theme. D610, 24-70 f2.8 at 38 and f14, 1/200, iso 400, hh. Suggestions and other comments welcome.

Hi Scott,

Snowy and bright fits this image well.  I like the saturation in the leaves which seem to glow....................Jim

This is so nice, Scott. A delicate presentation with those marvelous leaves. I've decided that the best fall/winter foliage scenes are like this, where the leaves are mostly gone. The trees seem a bit tight to the left. I think that can be mitigated by PS pruning of the lowest 3 large branches that extend off the frame. The large version is considerably better.

Scott: The lean of the tree probably wasn't caused by the wind but it creates the illusion of a serious blow. Well seen and superbly captured. >=))>

Scott, simple, clean, and mean. All in a good way of course. The whiteout eliminates all the other possible clutter in the scene and makes us focus more on the tree. But, at the same time the visual hint of the distant shoreline or hillside also makes us wonder what might be over there too......laugh

Well seen and captured under the seemingly severe conditions.......frown

Love this, Scott!  The sharp detail, colors and diagonal angle of the tree catch your attention immediately but the almost obscured shoreline and forest on the other side of the lake balance the scene and justify the foreground diagonals. Well scene and shot! devil

I really like the combination of tilted colored trees and all of the negative space.  The combo do a fine job of creating the sense of quite of a gentle snow storm.  This is a very artistic view, Scott.
