Land iguana

Wishing everyone all the very best for 2018!
I was part of a group of 12 photographers that visited the Galapagos Islands in August last year. It was a 2 week long trip, led by Arthur Morris, and was thoroughly enjoyable. Before setting off on our trip, however, we spent a couple of days in Guayaquil in Ecuador, and visited the Iguana Park in the middle of the city. This is a really small park and is surrounded by busy roads and lots of people. However, the land iguanas have become accustomed to the hustle and bustle, and thrive here. They live off handouts of lettuce leaves that visitors bring with them, and are totally unafraid of man.

As always, all critics and critiques welcome :)

6 commentsJust a note: the common name for this species is the green iguana (Iguana iguana, as you said), which is different from the land iguanas (genus Conolophus) of the Galapagos.
