f/8, 1/800, ISO 800
Aperture priority, Evaluative metering

Intentionally cropped as presented.  This is a wild morning glory, so I specifically decided not to clone anything.  This is part of my attempt to come to a happy agreement (for me, anyway) between what I would LIKE to do and not do and what is usually expected on NPN in the various galleries.  Please note I hope this does not affect your feedback.  I will try to say what I didn't do and why I didn't do it so you'll see when it was a decision and not an oversight or lack of knowledge, but feel free to comment on anything either way.

Any feedback would be appreciated.  Please view the larger version.  Thank you.

Barbara, since flowers don't move out of the frame, literally or figuratively, it leaves one with fairly open solutions to frame and crop. So I have no gripe about your choices, as long as other factors of white balance, detail, etc., hold up. Just on the basis of a look with those considerations, this image holds up well. The one thing I would point out is the background grasses look dull and drab. I would spend some time with the color and contrast of these, were this mine. The flower is fine as is.

Barbara, the flower looks great. Love the water drops and I really like the few blades of grass in front. Nice and simple composition and the crop is fine. As Phil has stated, perhaps the BG could use either more oomph or perhaps darkening and blurring a bit more?

Barbara, the large view is splendid. I love the soft look and the low saturated colors. For me the blade of grass adds interest to the photo. The BG helps to create the very natural feeling of the image. I love the photo as it is.

Barbara: When I looked at the thumbnail my first impression was that the blade of grass was a distraction but in the regular and large view I think it is a nice addition. Looks like good decision making to me. 2 thumbs up. >=))>
