J. Pollock writ large

Taken at the National Arboretum on a cold, cold day at dusk. Such a wintry looking skyscape but the chaotic imagery  did remind me of a Jackson Pollock painting with seed pod "drips" scattered among the black lines of bare branches. Please view the large image.

Minolta A2, 1/80 s, f/6.3, ISO 64, 20 mm, HH.

Stephanie,

I have to admit I had to google Pollock and the seed pods.... but I can now absolutely see your thought of comparison.  And to that end, I would think there is a crop in here that excludes most of the open sky in the UR; that brings a little context and takes away, IMHO, the abstractness I think you're trying to present.

There's a great mix of vertical, horizontal and diagonal branches, plus the "pods" that make this truly chaotic.  Still think cropping off the blue open space and perhaps just a bit off the left while retaining most of the pods could work.  Then again, as a chaotic abstract, anything goes right?

Good job seeing and envisioning this.
