Red-bellied Woodpeckers are resident on our land in Arkansas. I photographed this one from our back deck. Canon EOS 7D Mark II, Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM at 400mm, 1/640th at f/7.1, ISO 2000.

I like this image. Nice pose from the woodpecker, and the composition with the tree works well. It is exhibiting noise that could be taken care of with some NR software. Maybe just a bit oversaturated as well. A couple of minor tweeks would make this even better!

The green and red colors seem a bit oversaturated and I might decrease the brightness of the tree on the left. Noise reduction as Keith mentioned. I like the pose and the detail in the woodpecker looks good. Overall, a real nice look at this bird.

Nice pose and setting, the tree and moss are great. I agree it's a little oversaturated and noisy. Both issues should be easy to correct. The square crop works well Charles.

Thanks for the critique. Here is a repost. I have run Topaz Denoise again and reduced the saturation.
