After shooting the storm clouds that I posted last night, I hung around to watch the clouds change.  I expected to see more crepuscular rays, and I was not disappointed.  I took some black and white liberties by adding some "structure"  in Silver Effex Pro.

Canon 5D Mark III: 24-105
1/320 sec. @ f/5.6; ISO 160
3 bracketed shots merged to HDR in ACR for more freedom with dynamic range (1/320 was the middle one).
Processed in PSCC and Silver Effex Pro.

Beautiful sky!!!! I would be inclined to crop some foreground to further emphasize the sky, cropping to just hitting your name (ignoring the J). Love those light rays!

Wayne,

Most definitely a large view requirement here!  So glad you waited! You were rewarded for your patience.  I so much prefer this one primarily because the presence and showcasing of the rays is so much stronger and clearly the star of the show.  Not sure what the color is like, but if the color was lost in the sky by this time, then b&w was an appropriate choice.

The only suggestion I have, and this is a matter of personal choice, and that would be to play around with the contrast in the sky/clouds to perhaps enhance those rays even more.  As presented, this is still a great moment you've captured.

Very minor, but I was think along the same lines as Harley, although maybe not cropping as much. Maybe just enough the remove the darker clumps along the bottom.  The bigger bang for the buck though is trying to squeeze out those rays a little more.

Wayne, I love the radiating light in this. With crop suggestions as noted, I would also consider a crop from top as an option, maybe to get the horizon at the lower third of the frame.

Fabulous capture, Wayne.  I love the crepuscular rays.  I can see the advantage of cropping off the bottom, but if those clumps of bushes get closer to the edge, they feel more prominent.  Maybe clone those out for an even texture across that section of the foreground?

Along with Lon and Harley's comments, would it be possible to add a little brightness and a little contrast to the foreground? It looks a tad flat to me. I love the sky and the rays There are many different ways to process this one, Wayne; might be fun to experiment.
