Backyard Coopers Hawk

I think sometimes the photo gods like to pull pranks on us.  A Coopers hawk has frequently visited my backyard, on at least one such visit I was able to photograph it with a bird it had killed.  On this day, I had been photographing birds in the backyard, but had not seen the Coopers hawk.  I had gone outside to clear my steps from the overnight snow.  I had cleaned off the back ramp and gone back inside when I noticed my big cat staring at something in the backyard.  I looked and there in the corner was the Coopers hawk with a large pile of feathers (dove?).  It must have been feeding on the bird while I was only about 20 feet away, but out of sight.  At least the photo gods were kind enough to allow me to get off a few shots before the hawk flew away.  This photo was taken from inside through a widow, at a sharp angle.

Excellent detail for angled through a window, John, and a very interesting photo.  Nice job.
