Upper Antelope in B & W

I was searching my photo files for another Upper Antelope Canyon image to post and came across this shot taken in 2011.   I was mostly curious to see if the b&w would better highlight the sculpted curves in the Navajo sandstone walls.  I'll post my original shot for comparison.  HDR image to b&w in Lightroom.

I think the conversion to B/W makes this a much better image. I really like the B/W version. Nit: maybe a bit bright in top middle.

This does show off a great collection of curves, Paula.  Your ability to hold detail from the front to the back is a fine addition.  The colors pop well in the color version.  Both look great, while the comparison really shows off the differences that the two versions create in the minds of the viewers.  Well worth the sand...enlightened

The smooth textures and grains in this are excellent Paula.  B & W really gives this a moody feel with soft lighting fading into the darker areas. Beautiful, I prefer the B & W version here and that is unusual for me.

I like the way the B&W conversion turns this into an abstract of patterns. Very successfully done!

Beautiful b&w conversion. There are some wonderful tones in there.
