Canon 1D-X, 500mm x 1.4TC, tripod, delayed shutter
f11, 1/20th, ISO4000

The Barred at the Bard. I found this handsome Barred Owl at the grounds of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. She must share the acting bug: she posed for me fearlessly. This is full frame, from about 12 feet away.

Slight sharpening (10% using Viveza2).

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Jim, this is as good a Barred Owl image as I've ever seen, and full frame? Wow!

Wonderful capture of this beautiful owl, Jim.  I am sure it was thrilling to just be 12 feet away from her, and to have your camera and tripod as well, and ready to shoot.  What a blessing.  Great detail and pose.

Good job on getting this in less than perfect light conditions.  What an opportunity!

Excellent, Jim.  The owl pops quite well from the similarly covered bg and is nice and sharp throughout.  There are two tiny twigs sticking into the frame on the upper left that do draw my eye.  Oddly enough, they're the only ones that do.
