Collecting Pollen

I took this about a year ago (exciting that it is almost time for the blooms and the bees again).  Shot with Canon Mark II, Canon 100 mm L lens, with twin flash and diffuser, Hand held.  Settings f16, 1/250, ISO 200.  Cropped to 55% of original.  Comments and suggestions welcome.

The sharpness of the bee carrying those monstrous pollen sacks is great, Shirley.  The sharp stamen in front of the bee add some fine extra interest.  A great catch with the bee in flight.

I was going to say, ah spring has come early to North Carolina after a deep freeze this winter. This is a really nicely detailed shot of the bee with the pollen sacs on its legs.  Nice colors as well.

I like the details on the subject and the composition a lot.

Great  capture Shirley!  difficult to get a bee to stand still for a pic ;>).  You might try a little higher iso so you could shoot with a higher ss.  It would help freeze the wings.  Keep up the good work-  Ry
