Anna's hummingbird

Here is a low light image with fill flash.  Low cloud ceiling today diminished the amount of available light considerably.  This Anna's Hummingbird and perhaps one other has been here all winter.   It seems that their activity is starting to pick up a bit.  Larger image shows a better level of saturation.

Iso-6400, 200-500 at 500 mm, F7 .1, 800th, tripod, 70% of full frame,  D 500, DxO photo lab, ACR 10.2, Topaz adjust, TK sharpening action at 40%

Nice shot. I expect you will have some more in the near future; at least, I hope so.

Some really interesting colors developing on this guy, David.  Superb detail and a nice composition.  Well done.

David.
The larger version has amazing detail.  I like that you used a slower shutter speed and did not freeze the wings.  Great photo!

What do I see? Airborne animated iridescent jewelry!
With dynamic shots of humming birds, its technical fun to still the wings but I’d never see them that way. In this shot, the wings are suitably blurred and the static parts are detailed to perfection. I’m simply flabbergasted! David
