Double Cross

While wandering around northern Arizona, I ran across numerous fascinating rock formations with lines, colors, fins and various undulations. It is one of the most unusual places I have ever been. This image is keeping it very simple.

Harley, a wonderful abstract. The look and term of "otherworldly" comes to mind. Almost looks like a slice of Jupiter or some other planet........frown
No thoughts of change from my perspective.....laugh

Harley, the subtle colors and their movements would make a fine abstract on their own.  The crossed lines really add extra interest.  I especially like how the single line with it's tiny rootlets contrasts life with the stone.

There are some really fine lines and subtle variations in color that I find pleasing. The crossed lines are very cool. What a great natural abstract!

Terrific look at the sandstone.  I like the abstract nature of the image and you composed the image with superb diagonals of the lines on the rock.  The color patterns are fascinating.

Harley, I'm really enjoying this! The lines really do make for a wonderful abstract image and the soft colors are beautiful and so pleasing to look at. Simple and beautiful!! Nice work finding and photographing this.

Simple and beautiful. The stripes of color on the smooth rock in contrast to the diagonal ridges very cool to have in the same shot.  The LLC seems to have dust spots, but I realize it is just part of the surface.  Interesting that they are nearly circles.  Excellent abstract.

This has a wonderful arrangement of colors, textures and lines in it, Harley. The diagonals work beautifully as does that sweeping curve of color toward the ULC. Really great find here.

This is beautiful in its simplicity, subtle colors, and graphic design. The yellow curving form is such a nice contrast to the straight lines and soft pinks. Lots of nice textures, too. Excellent!

Love this Harley!  Excellentee!  The graphics with the crossing lines is wonderful, but I think even better is your composition including the curves and swath of orange/yellow color running through.  This is just arranged and composed beautifully.  The soft color palette is wonderful as well.

Hard to make any suggestions here, but I'll try anyway. ;-).  I realize the tones are naturally lighter above the pair of diagonal lines there in the upper right quadrant; so this isn't a technical suggestion really, but my thought would be to use a graduated mask and tone down the brightness in that area.  Not so much to make it equal with the rest, but just to bring down the levels a tad.  No biggie though.

There is an intriguing dynamic balance in your composition to me, Harley. I appreciate your careful treatment of colors, and finally the subtle kind of flow makes it unique for me.

Love rockscapes!  This has such gentle and attractive color and the opposing lines work well together.  No nits at all.
