Sony A77II
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 800, 1/100 @ f11
Our garden is slowly but surely coming out of the winter bruising and starting to recover. These little guys (each bloom about 3/4 inch in diameter) are some of the first to come forth. This is not a studio shot. The leaves are a very dark maroon and I just let the exposure go to black for the BG. All comments welcome.>=))>

Very nice focus control on the central parts, Bill. Some sort of wood sorrel I presume? I'm curious to know about the black BG though. As an option I'd prefer some detail back there if there is any.

Fine image, Bill, black BG and all. I'm curious what the BG looked like, but I recognize that sometimes black is better.cool

Great image Bill!  I personally love the black background.  It complements the colors and pattern of the blooms very well, particularly the dark lines at the base of the petals.  Well done!
