We rarely get snow and frozen ponds here in the Sierra Foothills, so I was very surprised to find this pool with the bubbles in the ice after last night's storm.

Preston, What a wonderful job you did capturing this. I love this composition with the bubbles placed perfectly in the frame. Great light, textures and the colors are wonderful. I just love those bubbles! Fantastic work getting the best out of this rare chance for you.

I like this very much as well. Particularly the large version which appears sharper and a tad contrastier. The shapes, sizes, colors, and arrangement makes it a great composition. The side lighting on the bubbles, though, takes this to another level by also adding a 3 dimensional look to the. The dark and green in the llc doesn't bother me. It adds a level of complexity. Good eye for seeing this composition.

Excellent texture study with superb abstract form.  The detail in the ice bubbles is fascinating.  Well seen.

I'm singing "tiny bubbles in the ice" in my head, Preston.  enlightened  I really like how the bubbles stand out.  The mottled background feels like some of the outer space pictures from the Hubble.

The arrangement of the bubbles works perfect for the frame.  Well processed, might make a nice BW too.

This is a lovely miniature landscape, Preston. The details and textures really shine in the large version and I particularly like the one large bubble at the top which appears to have encapsulated a smaller bubble. The square framing works nicely as does the diagonal flow to this scene. No suggestions from me.

Preston,

This is awesome! Love this.  Interesting too and I'll say right away how this graphically contrasts with Harley's image; both abstract; one being lines and angles, the other being circles and texture.

What a great find and the large view is especially impressive.  The frozen bubbles of course are the main subject - and you've composed a wonderful arrangement.  What I find most wonderful is the texture of the ice surface, as well as the impressionistic vegetation beneath the surface in the LLC.

Love this Preston. I think one of your best nature abstracts in recent memory.

Wow, this is superb. A delightful depiction of the wonderful world we live in. I love the composition (and how the various elements have been placed within the frame) and the post-processing. Absolutely gorgeous.
