This sandstone is showing some bounce light from a nearby wall. The light made a big difference in bringing the colors to life.

Lots to see in this abstract. Really fine compositional elements. Terrific color and texture.

Very nice image, Harley. The luminosity of the sandstone is amazing, particularly because it's natural. The image makes me think of muscle fibers. I'm interested to know how the waves of one sediment layer formed under the other one. The colors are amazing. With a bit of processing you could transform this into a Kuyper. There's a fair amount of tension and vitality in this comp.

I like how the underlying colors and their patterns play with the angles and ridges of the sandstone. Maybe a couple more points of brightness?

Outstanding - the colors, patterns, processing, comp just beautiful. The subtle shadows allow me to feel it with my eyes.

Gotta love these kinds of finds. Good stuff. Could see a bit more punch to the brights/darks but could be personal pref too. Fun!

Boy, that really has some color and texture. Really cool. I like what Igor said; it looks like muscle fibers.

Harley the wealth of diagonals in this image create a lot of impact. You have also done a wonderful job of creating a sense of depth with the way you composed this. I love the color pallette here, and the way yo processed it. Outstanding work....

This is wonderful, Harley. I love the diagonals, which add some energy to the striping. I might be inclined to burnish that top left wedge, but that's totally your call as it looks wonderful as is.

Beautiful colors, lines and textures. The 3 sections make for a very pleasing and balanced composition. Processing looks good. I might play with lightly burning the upper left corner.

Harley, another stunning image here. I'm having trouble deciding out of your recent posts which I prefer the most. I think the previous one is still my fav so far. But all are truly colorful & wonderful abstract looks IMO......

I like the sideways V formed by the converging lines in the sandstone. The repeating diagonal lines lend a sense of rhythm to the composition while the intersecting line at the top of the frame adds some visual dissonance. Of course the color is beautiful. Compositionally, this reminds me of Tony Kuyper's work, but with a lighter touch on the processing.
