Male Anhinga

I could not believe the amazing color of the plumage and the eyes of this male anhinga as we approached along the St. Johns River last week in Northern Florida. It was hanging out with its mate on this palm trunk that extended out over the river and quite patiently watched as we approached in Mike Ramy's boat.  Canon 60D, f9, 1/3200 sec, iso 400, -0.7 EV, 100-400 ISLii at 400 mm.  Your thoughts and critiques are welcomed.

He is gorgeous, Ed!  I have never seen one of these.  I am not sure seeing something that pretty and colorful if I would have held the camera steady enough to get a good shot.  Great shot.

Good looking male in breeding plumage. Not sure it needed that much EV, as there is some loss of detail in the shadows. Probably could be brought out with a little work with the highlight/shadow slider.

These are always fun to capture and I like the back view showing the white pattern and then there's that blue eye from the profile.  Well done!

Nice color and detail.  Well composed.  The large image looks fine on my monitor with respect to the exposure.
