The geology on this planet is astounding. The colors, twists and turns are unbelievable.

This image reminds me a bit of Ian's latest post with the darkest at the top which causes me no concern at all.  This image well displays what you refer to as the astounding geology of this planet.  Wonderful image.

Very nice composition with the curves all working together. There is a thin.straight diagonal line between the 'question mark' shape on the right and the white strata above it. You might consider cloning that out. The processing looks great, and I like the color difference the white shapes and the reds.

Beautiful colors and cool swirls and patterns. The composition is well balanced and processing looks good. I can't think of a way to improve.

Astounding indeed, Harley. The geology has a wonderful flow that takes me all around this intimate landscape and lets me enjoy the graceful lines along with the lovely colors. Looks great.

Another great photo that also shows off some amazing geology, Harley.  The swirls of stone are way cool.

Wonderful swirls and colors, almost looks like the dino bones I've seen in Utah.  I agree with Preston about the straight line, now that I've noticed it I can't keep my eyes from seeing it.

A really crazy look to this one, Harley. Overhead view might look a bit like the ice swirling on top of a cinnamon bun....sad
These locations in the southwestern states have got to be the best for landscape photography IMO. Along with the great colors we enjoy are the outstanding sandstone formations as well.
I could also see the clone idea here as a positive change.....laugh

As most of us see the true beauty and the tourist opportunities abound, others see nothing but an open-pit land-mine of some sort.......wink.......cheeky.......Double Sigh!!!

Harley, this is so cool to see. Quite an amazing place and you captured it wonderfully. The lines, shapes and textures are really something and just keep my eye wandering all through the image. Very nice work!

When did you return from your interplanetary landscape trip?  I thought we were still a ways away from the first manned space trip to Mars?  sad

The sweeping lines in this image pull my eye through the image like a roller-coaster ride.  The contrasting colors further add to the appeal of this image.  Nicely done!

Very primordial looking subject Harley. I like how you shot this in very soft, even light, it really helps to emphasize all those wonderful textures and colors in the scene. The color pallette of whites, reds and browns work really well together, somewhat similar to Ian Cameron's recent shots of snow blasted sand dunes.

An amazing abstract to me Harley, a most interesting interplay of shapes, textures and colors.
