Munna, the Tiger

Munna, the famous male Tiger from Kanha National Park, India.
Having worked with film cameras and slow lenses, it is amazing to see how technology is shaping up photography.
This image was shot in quite dark conditions, after 6 p.m. in the evening, when tiger looked like a dash of orange colour. As the Tiger started walking towards my vehicle, I struggled to change 100-400 mm lens with 70-200 mm f2.8 lens. AS I looked for Tiger after changing the lens, it took me couple of seconds to locate the tiger in front. But the final results doesn't look like that. sad

Thank you so much for your kind comments & views!
Canon 5S 4; 70-200 mm; ISO 5000; 1/320 sec. at F 2.8.

Jagdeep: your capture, especially when viewed large, looks three dimensional. I like the fierce look on the tiger's face and the movement shown by the raised foot. He really stands out against the oof background. Congrats!! Richard

Yes to Richard's observation about the 3-D effect,  an effect heightened by catching him at the top of that little rise.  The razor thin depth of field of 2.8 lifts him beautifully from the background.  I like your choice of centered composition, too.
