This is the first time I've seen the male Downy in about a month.  The females have been around for several weeks.  The male needs to eat sometime...

Iso-400, 200-500 at 500 mm, F6 .3, 800th, D 500, tripod, fill flash at zero, -0.7 EV, ACR 10.2, Topaz adjust, TK sharpening action at 40%

Nice head turn and great perch you found this guy on David, and nice use of flash. Hope he starts feeding soon.

Great pose to show the colours on his head.
If you have more room on the top and bottom, you might experiment with a vertical crop too, showing more of the beautiful trunk.
Fine image!

Marvelous pose by the Downy David. Background is very complimentary and the diagonal perch is nice as well. Details look great and the fill flash looks good. Nice Job!

Excellent pose and perch and a great look at the eye, David.  It looks on my monitor as if you could bring the whites on the bird up a bit.

Nice pensive shot David. He looks like he is contemplating the need for food. Good work with the flash.
