Thank you for your comments on my previous post, Encore.  I have posted an update based on Doug's suggestion for bringing out more definition in the canyon.  If you have a few minutes to take a second look I would appreciate your feedback on the repost.

Shifting gears back to autumn (I think I could have 365 days of autumn!  sad ), here is an image that I took last fall in the Cataloochee Valley in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

As always all comments and critiques are welcome!  devil

Capture Info:
200 mm
f/11 @ 1/5 sec
ISO 100

Processing Info:
Levels adjustment to set black and white point; TK's luminosity and saturation masks, crop to 4x5 aspect ratio.

Brian, I could be very happy with year round autumn as well, but at least we have this lovely image to look at. I really like the contrast between the dominant yellow and orange trees here, they create a nice center of interest in this autumn scene. The processing of the colors looks very natural, nicely done. This is minor, but my only nitpick is that I wish there was a little more space below the orange tree on the right, if you cropped this to 4x5 maybe you have space to recover.

Brian, I especially like appreciate the subtlety of all the textures complemented by the beautiful autumn colors. Web presentation certainly cannot do this image justice, I really would like to see it as a large print!

My only suggestion would be to darken the grass at the bottom, it is drawing my attention a bit too much. But this is only a minor matter for me. Thanks for sharing!

Nicely composed and beautiful assortment of colors, shapes and textures in the foliage. The color balance looks too warm to me which is imparting a yellow cast. I might experiment with cooling down the temp. a bit.

I always love autumn colors, Brian, especially soft, muted colors such as these, very nice.

Here is a repost with adjustments to the color balance and a different crop to include more of the foreground grass.  Good call on the color balance, Dave.  I hadn't noticed that before.

Brian, I always love seeing fall color and this one is really nice...I'm already planning my fall photo trip for this year cool. The repost works best for me with the color balance cooled a bit and I also like a bit more room at the bottom. Nice work!

Nice flashback to autumn. I like the original composition and the repost color changes. I might add a touch of the bottom back from the original but I prefer it without yellow fore grasses.

I think Harley has the sweet spot Brian. That combo would look good.
