Moose in Willows

At the tail end of my winter Yellowstone trip, we finally had some closer moose sightings.  Several bulls had been foraging out in the distant willows of the eastern Lamar Valley for a couple weeks, and it wasn't until the end of my two-and-a-half week stay that they finally went for the food closer to the road.  Obviously I could've wished for antlers on this guy (you can see where they have recently fallen off), but I was pleased to have a subject in this colorful setting, especially on a dull overcast morning like this.

Great look at a moose!  Like the expression on his face.  Thanks for sharing.

I agree about he expression. Also face is sharp. The teeth take the eye right to the face of the animal. Nice setting and behavior.

Superb, Max.  I love the unusual pose and expression, a sense of moose we seldom see!  The reddish willows are a great setting, too.
