Whimbrel

From our last afternoon on the Monterey Peninsula.  We were starting to get showers on our evening walk to the beach and I liked the rain streaks.  I also like the rock with all the seaweed.  I'd like to have not had the bit of oof moss in the bottom center, but cropping up further would have unbalanced the image.  Background is the waves (I got my feet wet).

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held, f/10, 1/500, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1 EV to avoid blowing out the water.  Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to 12.4 MP.  Taken at Asilomar Beach State Park on March 12th at 4:47 pm.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks for taking a look,

Worth getting wet feet for this one.  Good pose and comp.  I really like the perch and the detail here.  Nice OOF features in the BG.

I'd get my feet wet for that image. Very nice. But this bord needs to be headed inland to the mountains; it's breeding season. Didn't get hte memo?

Nice clean shot Dennis.  I really like the driving rain showing up in this one.  Great focus where it needed to be too.

This has a great mood to it Dennis. The rain streaks add so much interest. Really nice capture, worth the damp feet!

Lovely look at this Whimbrel Dennis. I like this as posted and have no problems with the OOF moss in the lower foreground. The rain drops visible in the lower right  of the frame adds to the appeal of this shot for me-definitely worth getting wet for.devil
