Tree Frog and Bokeh

This is an older one I found from 2013 in Jean Lafitte NP. The little guy made for a good exercise for critical DOF in manual focus, always challenging at such close range, which for me is part of the fun. Full frame shot from about four feet away. I thought the bokeh was kinda nice in this.

E-5 ZD 50-200 @200 on tripod. ISO 100 1/30 f4.5, -1.0EV

I like this! There is a story here in the emotional context at least. Must be looked at large; the thumbnail does no justice at all to this.

A different kind of "spring peeper", Bill.  The peering over the edge view looks good as do all of the green tones.  As Phil points out, there a fine emotional feeling created by your pov choice and the bokeh.

Hey Bill,

I like the pose with the frog peeking over the edge of the leaf.  Big lens macros sometimes work out very well and this one is nicely done.  The bokeh‌ are a wonderful addition to the comp.  Well done.......................Jim

This is a great capture, Bill.  I love him peeping over the edge, and like you said the bokeh is nice too.  In fact, I like that one of the circles (from the wide open f-stop) of light is like a halo around his head!  Very nicely done, especially in manual focus.
