Alien spider

This was shot this morning.
This little spider was "eating" another spider in the grass.
The red areas on the abdomen create something that recalls the face of an alien creature (at least to us).

Thank for your comments and suggestions.

Very good image. Your background works well here, and the spider and prey show nicely. If mine I might frame the subjects a bit closer to the center as an option.

D&L, I agree about the body looking like some alien.  I really like the overall green color scheme here and how that lets the "alien face" stand out.  The details are great with both spider's legs showing clearly.

D&L ...Spiders are wonderful subjects to work with. Tack sharp, and beautiful color. Would have preferred a center comp ...well thats personal..

D&L, this is an excellent closeup of this spider. Scary looking no doubt, but a wonderful colorful creature at the same time. Congrats on the WP for this fine image.........laugh
