Female Purple Martin giving me the look.  Taken from a ladder to put me at eye level with their perches.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600mm, hand held, f/8, 1/2000, iso 1250, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to a 4x5, full height.  Taken at 8:12 am in the fog on May 2nd.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks for taking a look,

That looks like one ticked off bird. What did you do to him? The techs look really good on this mean looking fellow.

Nicely muted light. Good feather detail, and the Purple Martin's focus on you, make this work. I am wondering if a square frame might work better here.

I love that you got on the ladder to get this look Dennis. That is dedication.  That also gave a very nice perspective straight on look at a somewhat grumpy looking bird.  Nice one.

She looks a little grumpy but was captured very well by you.  Looks like it was pretty overcast. Diagonal perch is nice too.

I like the straight on view she gave you here Dennis as well as your title.  I think you could have used a bit more depth of field to get the beak in focus at this angle. devil
