House Wren
by Dennis Plank
Yesterday morning when I went out to feed birds, I found both my peanut feeders in front of the blind stuffed with small twigs-a sure sign of a wren. This morning the more natural of the two had been turned and emptied, so I put peanuts in it again. I decided to spend some time in the blind to see if he'd come back. Interestingly,he actually took a couple of peanuts out of the feeder-whether to eat them or just get them out of his way, I'm not sure. I did see him take a twig to the other feeder, but didn't have a camera angle that covered it. In this shot, he found a nearby perch to brag about all his neat nests (or at least these two).

That blade of grass by the tail is a bit distracting.
Congrats on a fine WP!
