Red Wine Curves

This was my favorite take from a hike into a lesser-visited slot canyon along the Utah border last week. I shot this scene on the hike in and also the hike out, and preferred the different glow in the afternoon.  Focus stack of three images @ f/16 45mm.

Doug, beautiful colors, textures and forms in this. Good to know there are slot canyons other than Antelope enlightened

I like the variation in colors, light, the lines and textures in the image. It seems like the slot canyons have a never ending opportunity for images.

How nice to know a "lesser visited" slot canyon.  This looks great, Doug. Nice sweeping curves and variety of red colors.

Beautiful! Great color and the comp and light really work. Smart to keep the less visited location to yourself, to keep it less visited. sad

Thanks for your comments.  It sure would be nice to be able to have an unguided photo tour of Lower Antelope again with few people as in just only a few short years ago.

I like this image a lot, Doug.  There is more than meets the eye at first glance in the composition.  I like how the lines / curves in the background wall seem to flow right into the lines in the foreground wall on the right hand side.  I find that fascinating and it keeps my eye exploring the whole scene from corner to corner.

That does it for me Doug, though a strong focal point somewhere might help.

Very lovely Doug. The colors are soothing and the lines are so graceful. I am also very fond of the title.

Doug: I had a similar comp in Antelope Canyon but because we were tied to a tour group I didn't have the chance to work the scene properly. I envy your experience. Beautiful tones and lines. Superbly crafted image. >=))>
