Jökulsárlón Lagoon

One from last year; I spent a few hours watching the tide going out of the lagoon at around 2am in June, until it washed the small chunks of iceberg out of the lagoon into the sea, where they promptly wash up on the black beach - some of them are the size of a school bus - others are football sized, some look like giant crystals - it really is a mind blowing place. I had it to myself for about 45 minutes before scores of people with Tripods had realized what I was doing and made a stampede in my direction, it was great until that point.

I like the soft light, pastel colors, arraingement of the ice and the movement of the water. Fine image.

Love the translucency of the ice. I can't imagine seeing chunks of ice just laying on the beach like this. I can't decide whether the dark cloud in urc adds or diminishes the image. The soft water from the slow ss nicely shows off the ice blocks in a better way. Nice image.

Sweet ice image! Yea, for me the dark cloud in the upper right is a bit distracting. Maybe also lighten the sky a tad bit?
Cheers

I have seen a lot of these kind of images, but I always enjoy them because there is always something new each time.  The lines from the water in the foreground give the composition a lot of energy and the three primary ice chunks with different textures give my eye a place to land.  I like the gradient of light in the sky.  One recommendation would be to crop some off of the top below the clouds.  I find that they tend to draw my eye away from the focal point in the image.  Either way, this is still a nice image as is!  devil

I like that there is a trio of ice pieces in the foreground. each having a different texture.  The cloud in the URC is a little intrusive.  I tried a roll crop, but the image then seemed to tight on top.  An option may be to clone, or just live with the cloud in reality.

A mesmerising place indeed, the soft low contrast approach works well in combination with the pastels. Composition works great too with that trio of ice fragments.

Beautiful scene - very peaceful and serene. Great bergs and soft water flow, and a sweet hint of horizon colour.
Congrats on a fine WP!
