<div>Please critique per the following:</div> <div>Not my goal:  Sell images, print images, frame images (again, not my goal).</div> <div>My goal:  Explore nature more deeply than most people do and share pictures that let other people see and enjoy what I find as clearly as possible.

Hi again, folks.  I live in Decatur (Atlanta area), Georgia now, and not in Florida.  This may not matter a lot when it comes to flowers, although I must admit I've taken a fair number of pictures of magnolia blossoms lately. :)

This is a geranium on my patio today, after a couple of days of rain.  I left the colors dark, as they were.

I would greatly appreciate any comments or critiques per my above-stated goals.  Thank you!

Hi Barbara.  To me, 'explore nature more deeply' usually means a macro or closeup with great detail..  You've managed that with this image.  The geranium flower has good detail, although the wetness distorts that a little, and the background is just the right darkness so it doesn't distract from your subject.  Well done.

Thanks much, Patricia.  Upon further reflection I think I'll try "more fully" instead of "more deeply" next time.  It helps to get feedback from other people like you to further refine what I mean.

Very nice Barbara.  I like the darker leaves in the background.

Glad to see you posting again! Sounds like you have been busy..
Very pretty flower, nice colour contrasts with the red and green, and the water drops add a lot.

Hi Barbara!  I like how you posted your goals - it helps frame the review.  I hope you are enjoying Decatur!

There is a lot to like in this photo.  The comp with the slightly off center bloom works very well.  The colors and depth of field are also very good, especially how the background works with the color of the bloom.  The drops add to the image, and you did a great job of controlling the highlights in the reflections.

Well done!

Barbara, the setting, the flower and the raindrops look great.  The overall darkness creates a dreary feeling, which may be what you wanted.

Very nicely presented, Barbara. The larger view really is nice.  It is a beautiful color, and if it were brighter, I think you might lose the deep color in it, so well done.

Certainly does show the conditions. I like water drops, but this seems a bit excessive.

Barbara: Great to have you posting again. I do think this could stand a bit of brightening but only a 1/2 stop or so. I'm OK with the drops but I do see what Phil notes. Keep 'em coming.>=))>
