"Spit in Front of the Mountain" - - I hate that the title block has such limited characters
I had an opportunity for a free glacier tour with Stan Steven's Glacier Tours so needless to say, I took them up on it. The down side was that it was a completely overcast day so the wide angle landscape scenes were pretty dull. Since one of the benefits of the tour is the wildlife, I also had the 100-400 with me so I decided to shoot telephoto landscapes instead. This one is a small spit of land sticking out into the Columbia Bay with the still snow covered mountains and a small glacier in the background. It was relatively cold with a strong breeze coming off the mountains and Columbia glacier which was rippling the water. I liked the contrast of the dark, rich colors of the trees & grasses in contrast with the whites and blues of the distant mountains. We couldn't get close enough to the Columbia Glacier to see any kind of a face because of the massive amount of ice floating in the bay (seen in the background of the photo) but it was still a pleasant cruise.

The mountain/glacier loom dominant over the little spit of land; the juxtaposition between the two works wonderfully. Of course the light isn't the best, but I think you made the best decision. The storminess and danger of the floating ice is also quite apparent.
the only small nit would be this seems to be slightly rotated ccw. Yes, I see the slope on the island looks natural, but to my eye even the sea/land horizon on the right seems ever so slightly slanted. Now that's nit picky!
