Peak Exposure

Taken in early Spring when a late snow storm was breaking up.  The mountain peaks were intermittently lit up as the sun found holes in the clouds and fog and just as I was taking the shot a couple ducks flew over in just the right place!

Sony a6500, FE 100-400 GM @ 100 mm, ISO-100, f/5.6, 1/2000, hand held.

Definitely peek-a-boo with the peak, Gary.  The sunlight on the peak lets it stand out well.  The ducks are a nice addition.

Gary, This is pretty cool. I like how the cloud break just lets the mountain peak show through with clouds above and below it. The light on the peaks also worked out great. First look at the small 720 px image made me think the two ducks were military jets flying over. Easy to see they are ducks in the larger version...cool

I like the minimalist nature of the composition.  The clouds frame the peaks nicely and add just the right amount of tonal contrast.  The ducks add a sense of place as well as scale.  Nicely done!

Simple and beautiful. The two birds add so much to this scene. I love it.

Images of sunlit peaks through gaps in the clouds create a fondness.  That the two ducks cooperated at a timely moment is even better.

A very dramatic image with the peak shrouded in clouds and fog and the sun shining through, Gary.  The ducks are a really nice bonus that adds even more interest to the image.  Well done, Gary.

I thought they were fighter jets!  Great timing and lighting on the mountains.  A tighter crop might show off the birds more, but fine as is.

The ducks make this. sad  I like the mountain peeking through, but without the ducks, I think it might be a bit dull.  The ducks, though, they add just the right touch!  That definitely makes it feel like a special moment in time.  Nice one.
