American Tree Sparrow

While not exclusively a northern bird, the American Tree Sparrows were singing on territory around Nome, providing some nice opportunities. I was particularly fond of the background and perch in this image.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held balanced on car window, f/8, 1/1250, iso 640, aperture priority, pattern metering. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped from a horizontal original. Full height. Taken at 8:37 PM on June 6th.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks for taking a look,

Gorgeous - much better than anything I got.
Perfect singing pose, perch, and BG.
That lens (plus an excellent photographer) are just superb!

Nice shot, Dennis. I like the perch and background too. Great detail in his feathers. This is outstanding.

Sharp capture with a fine background, Dennis. I agree that the perch is really nice along with a fine catch light in his eye. An outstanding image.
