Badlands Scene

Was not sure where to put this photo. It's both landscape and wildlife. Taken as sun going down. Nikon D800 ISO 100, f/9, 1/15 sec. I kept the focus soft to give it a pastoral and calming feel. Cropped image on right.

Jan

I like the way the different layers and objects lead you into this picture and it is a "peaceful" scene. Very nicely done picture of the badlands.  The one nit I had is that the foreground is so dramatic but then the sky is not so much.  I wonder if some more work on the sky might be called for.  Perhaps painting in something from another photo?

I'm not sure about the correct gallery, Jan.  I don't see too much obvious "hand of man" in the image, so I'd suspect Landscape, but the Moderators can figure that out.  A beautiful Landscape.  Very pastoral feeling-just rplace the bison with domestic cattle and it could be taken in farm country.  I like the placement of the bison and the foreground tree and the long vista behind them.

A very fine image regardless of what gallery you place it in!  I like the colors and the soft focus.  but, if possible would like to see a sharp version.  thanks for sharing.

Jan, if those ridges in the foreground are made by a tractor, you do have hand of man here.  I like the scene very much and have no problem with sky.  A very nice image of the contours, the bison, and the tree in the foreground and the Badlands in the background.
