Willow Flycatcher
by Dennis Plank
I suspect this is the same bird I posted images of last year, since it's acting the same. It comes to the little pond in front of my blind and dives into the pond and almost bounces out and back to a perch (usually not quite the same place it left). I'm going to try a trigger system to see if I can catch it arriving at or leaving the water, but it's still a cool way of taking a bath.

Really nice detail and low noise for ISO of 2500. How was the Sidekick used to get that soft fill lighting?
Peter
It wasn't, Peter. The soft lightin was just due to the cloudy day and some processing to add a little light. The sidekick is just a gizmo that attaches to a ball head to make it into a gimbal mount. It provides more versatility than a stand alone gimbal and doesn't weigh much. It's plenty rigid for the camera/lens combination I'm using.
Very nice. The pose and composition make for a very pleasing image. Well done. The bird is very gray compared to the color of willow flycatchers found around here in Michigan. Have you heard this one call?.....................Jim
