Sorry I haven't commented (or posted) in awhile. Got laid off from my job after almost 20 years, so have a lot of pieces I am trying to pick up right now. I am also WAY behind on processing. Anyway, I will hopefully catch up on comments over the next few days.

Here is an image from a few weeks ago. I liked how the male Quail was hovering over the little ones. I managed to get one isolated. Which was much harder than I originally thought and I had to be pretty patient.

Sorry to hear about the job, Kurt.  there's been way too much of that in recent years.  This is a beautiful image.  I love the low angle you used that really accents the difference in sizes and gets you right down with the youngster.  Very well done.

So sorry about the job! Never easy to deal with. On the other hand, it will give you more time with that new 600mm !
Excellent image - very vigilant papa and darling little one.
your usual perfect techs and processing.

Sorry to hear about your job. That has to be difficult, but sometimes things happen for a reason. I suspect something better is just around the corner. This image is just beautiful. That background is amazing. The juxtaposition of the big male and the small chick makes this for me. Where was this taken?

Nice image.  The low angle really emphasizes the size difference and allows that creamy OOF background.  Good detail and poses.

Fantastic shot.  I'd simply be happy with a clear photo of an adult... the chick is a nice bonus.

Best of luck on the job front, Kurt.

Kurt

Excellent photo of these subjects with a marvelous background.  Sorry to hear about the life upheaval, but a new door always opens and perhaps to other places with other photo adventures.  Wishing you the best going forward.

Kurt. What kind of work are you looking for. Someone may know someone. This shot is excellent as always. The low POV and creamy BG really make this.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Ed, I am open to a few things, but would prefer to stay in the telecom industry where i have spent over 21 years. My last 11 years I worked as a Project Manager (on the business side not IT). I managed new product launches, process changes and product campaigns. I also have experience in training development and facilitation and about 25 years in sales. Thanks for asking!

Kurt, this is an excellent photo with a bit of story playing out here too. Your dedication and patients has really paid off big time on this scene. Congratulations on the WP for this very fine image.

As a side note:  I'm extremely sorry to hear about your job loss, especially after so many years at the same employment from the sounds of your message. I can only say that although I'm retired for many years now, during my working days I had many companies I worked for go under during my working days. Even laid off on Christmas Eve one time. Good luck on getting back to work soon and we're all pulling for you on that front......take care !

Hey Kurt,
This is my favorite from the series of your encounter with this Quail family.
Congratulations on the well deserved WP.
I'm sorry to hear about your employment situation however, you have to remain positive as hard as that might be. Things happen for a reason and I'm sure you will land on both feet, there is always 'Opportunity in Disappointment'.
I'm here for you my friend . . . enlightened
