I have been absent lately, and I am sorry I haven't been able to view and comment much on your beautiful images.  Just been busy, and out of town, etc.  Hopefully I will be able to be contribute more both in posting and commenting.

I was thrilled to see our baby bluebird perch in our yard yesterday.  We had only see it in the hole of the nest box before it flew the coop!  I shot this with my Canon 7D Mark II, Canon 300mm f2.8 L lens at f5.6, 1/1500, ISO 500.  I cropped it down to about 70% of the original.  I am thinking of printing this image to hang with a photo of the parents, so would appreciate your comments and suggestions.  Thanks in advance.

The image has good detail, color, dof and composition. I like the sence of something happening rather then the bird just standing on the branch. I gave me a chuckle because it looked like a baby trying to learn to walk and falling.

Hi Shirley
You have a really nice nature photograph here.  The baby Bluebird looks like it needs nap.  Nice detail and framing.

Looks for all the world like a fear of falling. I agree with Richard that something is happening; just that I don't know what it is. A delightful photo!

The detail is excellent, Shirley, and the pose is wonderfully cute.  I don't know what processing software you use, but a touch of dodging to the face might bring this over the top. If you use Lightroom, the local adjustment brush can be used to put any combination from the sliders you want in it-very handy.  I'll often create a brush with a bit of brightness, some warmth and just a touch of sharpening.  It is useful to touch up the part of the image that you want to draw the viewer's eye.

A sweet pose from this youngster, whatever he/she is doing!
Really nice detail, bright eye, and complimentary BG.
I'd suggest moving the whole bird and branch down a bit in the frame, (or crop slightly differently) to improve this even further.
Fine image!

Hi Shirley,

You lost a little bit of detail from the crop, but image should print just fine.  Shadows look good and the pose is priceless! With crops, play around with the suggested crops to see if it strengthens the image. I think moving the bird down may improve it slightly.  I like this one as presenteddevil.......................Jim
