Fog Drops

The coast of California gets lots of fog in the summer, which keeps us cool but also can be dreary if it goes on for days. I decided to make the best of it this year and take lots of fog photos. This is a small branch from an anise plant that has the morning fog condensed on its feathery leaves. I also wanted to convey, with this composite, that it wasn't winter but that the fog was clearing and the sun was breaking through. It may be a little busy and unfocused for some viewers, so I'd like your feedback.

Canon 5dM3, two photos compiled in Photoshop.

Interesting.  The foreground plant certainly suggests winter, but the background tree suggests spring or summer.  The transition makes the viewer think about what's going on.  Well thought out.  There are some small stems against the large stem on the right that appear to be processed differently than the rest of the image and it tends to stand out and looks a bit odd in the context of the rest of the image.

Pleasing to view and I agree with Allen that it makes you think about what caused this effect.  I too thought this was a winter shot until I read your explanation.

Lovely - I, too, was sure this was a winter image.
Soft pastels, great framing, and light.
Congrats on the EP!
