Orange-Crowned Warbler
by Dennis Plank
Like this one needs a label. It's usually so difficult to see any orange in the crown of these that I was utterly amazed when this one came in to my upper pond this afternoon. I did get images before the bath and the orange crown was very evident from the beginning, but I liked this image better.
7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, tripod with ball head and Sidekick, f/8, 1/320, iso 2500, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1 EV (for whites on other birds-not really needed for this one and I boosted exposure about 1/3 stop in processing). Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to an 8.5 MP 4x5. Taken at 11:06 am today under heavily overcast skies.
Your comments and critiques are really appreciated.
