Bee on verbena

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted July 18, 201811,720 views5 comments

I took this one last August. I posted a different image of the same bee (I think) in this patch of verbena last August, but found this image while going through bee and butterfly images for an upcoming presentation, so I thought I'd post it as well. D610, sigma 150 f2.8 macro, 1/1600, f5.6, iso 640. Single image, cropped from horizontal. Taken at Fellows Riverside Gardens. Thanks for looking. Suggestions, questions, and other comments welcome. crying

Hi Scott,

Nice eye-level view of this bee. Head, thorax, and wings are sharp. Good job capturing this one.......................Jim

Thats a cracker Scott. A very nice complimenting BG, and tack sharp eyes. I like those spots of tiny flowers, which is the icing...very well done

Those eyes are amazing, Scott. The rest of the bee's face, thorax, and the scattered flowers also look great. Quite the capture.

Scott, love the sharpness and focus on the eyes they pull you right into the image. The colors are nice too.

Excellent comp and cheery colors, Scott. This clearly illustrates the skills and challenges needed for really good macro work. Of course a lot of patience is necessary too. Great stuff !!
