This is flat out gorgeous, Mike. Looks like a scene straight out of the Pacific Northwest. The lush greens are captivating and I am thoroughly enjoying those moss covered tree roots as they fan out across the ground. Beautifully done. Perfect light for showcasing this image.

I thought it was the Pacific Northwest, also, but it is aptly titled and a pleasure to view regardless of the location. Looks lush and damp, and the roots make an interesting focal point. I like the general darkness, also, as it conveys well the sense of the dark forest.

The greens and the amazing tree roots make this a very primordial view, Michael. Looks great.

This is a fine image Michael. My first thought was that the moss seems a bit bright. But if you crop the brighter area up top the glow from the moss makes the scene more enchanting. You would need to do further cropping on the sides to avoid the panorama look but it could result in an interesting I think. The thing is to keep the tree greens fairly dark. Maybe burn in the green highlights on the left a bit. I think this image has a lot of room for interpretation. The green glow in a dark forest. I really like the warm cast to this green as well as the rich browns in the soil.

Thanks everyone for the comments, Igor, I did take a bunch of alternate compositions and crops and different white balance settings. This might be closer to the crop you had in mind.

Beautiful rich greens and light. I prefer the second one (first repost which I think is a different image). Last repost has some funky color casts to my eye. Both the original and next one work for me, but I like the intimacy of the more tightly composed image. Sweet image.

Very nice Michael. Straight out of a fairy-tale if you ask me. A forest never looked more inviting and mysterious.
I prefer the original presentation over the other variations because it offers more depth to the scene.

The second variation for me overall. I would back off the magenta a bit but in terms of composition and light/darkness it hits the spot. I like it a lot. It has the mystery I was looking for. A forest secret. Yes forests have secrets. It's one of their appealing characteristics. Sometimes mushrooms appear out of the darkness, other times - wolves. In this case - emeralds.
You really can't go wrong with any of them really. I like the original very much also.

I like the original post better then either of the reposts. The light is really sweet and the play between the light and shadow gives a mysterous feel to the image. This needs to be printed large and hung on a wall some place.

I am still sticking with the original post, Mike. Those trees in the BG give the scene more depth and add to the mood. You will have to show me where this is the next time we make it down that way.

Really like this image and the rp even better. You framed and lit this very nicely to give the focus to these roots.

For what it's worth, I like the more intimate first repost. The greens seem a little less vivid which I prefer.
