Too Cute

I was trying to take some photos of male goldfinches on sunflowers.  Took quite a few, but the compositions were not what I was looking for.  I have a small stick taped to the deck and a tiny, but aggressive male ruby-throated hummingbird uses it as a staging area for launching attacks on other hummers. Waited for the head turn and got it. D500 600mm f4 (1/320 sec at f14, Iso 2000) DeNoise, Levels, Shadows & Highlights, 20% opacity for Topaz Detail............................Jim

Hi Jim
I like the head turn, coloring and detail.  Your waiting on this Ruby-throated Hummingbird has paid off I know how hard it is to photograph Hummingbird.

I've found it takes a lot of patience and many shots to get the gorget color this good. The high ISO will probably rule out a tighter crop, but you might try it.

Very nice to have a cooperative hummingbird.  I like to head turn and it certainly shows off the gorget quite well.  Looks very clean for iso 2000.

Hey Jim,
Excellent capture of this little fellow, the large version is impressive in all respects.
Well done . . . laugh
