Taking a short break from the office de-commissioning to post this.  More experimenting.  Have been trying to shoot scenes of flowers.  Experimenting between an all in focus rendition to partially in focus for a more impressionistic look, using various lenses..  Varying degrees of success.  This one shot with D800, 70-300 lens at 155mm, f9, handheld, 1/320 sec.

Comments always welcome and appreciated.  Really want to develop a good technique for dreamy flower scenes.

Regards to all.

Kathy: I think this is superb. Your POF/DOF choice works great for me. A wonderful natural scene superbly rendered.>=))>

Just exceptional! Perfect framing, DOF, and colour contrasts.

Lovely colors and comp. I like the dreamy look with the several in focus flowers.

Kathy, this is, well, nice. An over-used word, I realize; but  decent, decorous, genteel, polite, proper, respectable, seemly could also be used. There is no fakery or false note here. That kind of nice! And I think you met your goal of a "dreamy flower scene" quite—nicely. devil
